Delta Area Association for Improvement of Schools

The primary purpose of DAAIS is to provide services and professional development opportunities for personnel of member schools, as well as curricular and enrichment opportunities for their students.

DAAIS is a regional consortium of educational institutions in the geographic region known as the Mississippi Delta.

March 7-8 – Accountable Leadership – DSU Alumni House – Simmons Room – Day 1 – This module will provide school leaders with a stronger understanding of student achievement data, the utilization of data to increase student outcomes, and the implications of data in conjunction with both state and federal accountability assignments. This module will provide an overview of the process standards by which school districts are held accountable, how the standards affect local protocol and policy, and provide a generalized application of each.

March 23, 2022 – School Improvement Facilitator’s Network Session – DSU Alumni House –

This professional learning experience will serve as a continuation of the specific guidance and strategies provided to district level personnel responsible for supporting schools that have been identified for comprehensive or targeted support and improvement.  The purpose of the session is to: *provide a layer of support to those serving in this role; *provide this network of district administrators with an opportunity to engage with role alike peers across the state; *create opportunities to share strategies for implementation and monitoring of school improvement plans. While this session is targeted for school improvement facilitators, superintendents are invited to attend.

DAAIS Introduces Anonymous Reporting System and SEL Programs at No Cost to Help Protect Your Schools

DAAIS is partnering with STOPit Solutions to offer its nation-leading Anonymous Reporting System (ARS) and SEL Center at no cost to your school district. STOPit’s ARS empowers students and staff to report inappropriate behavior, mental health and safety issues to administrators at their school to ensure the safety and well-being of fellow students and staff. The SEL Center provides social and emotional learning resources and curriculum to students to help improve attitudes and behavior, gain a deeper commitment to learning, and improve classroom behavior.
